Standard shipping charges are broken up by order price:
Purchases from $0.01 - $9.99 will be charged $6.00 for shipping.
$10.00 - $99.99 will be charged $8.00 for shipping.
$100-$249.99 will be $15.00.
$250
- $349.99
will cost $20.00.
$350 and up will be $25.00
Shipping prices are for USPS insured priority mail
with delivery confirmation.
Normally we ship within one week after receiving payment for an item via USPS insured priority mail (2-3 day delivery). This means you will receive your item within 10 days. This can vary during September-October and we will alert you immediately if there is an expected delay. Since packages are insured, they will not be left at your address without a signature. Your mail carrier should leave a note if you are not available and you can pick up the package from your post office or have it redelivered.
We offer FedEx overnight shipping for an additional fee. FedEx charges usually range from $25-$100 depending on the item's weight and your location. Please contact us *BEFORE ORDERING* for an exact quote and be sure to include your zip code and whether the address is residential or business. If upgrading to FedEx your daytime telephone number is also required. There may also be a $35 rush-order fee if you need the item shipped in less than 3 days from the time when you order.
Yes! Plus-Size Costume Shop is happy to ship anywhere in the world but you will be responsible for higher shipping charges and any customs fees due upon delivery.
We normally require items to be shipped via Airmail (4-10 days for delivery)
or global express mail (2-5 days for delivery). We prefer global
express because the packages then have a tracking number and are
automatically insured. We do not ship via surface or economy mail
due to the 6-8 week delivery timeline.
All items shipped internationally will be
marked as merchandise on the customs form.
Please do not ask us to mark packages as gifts. It is illegal and our post office know that we run a business. If you are outside the US and interested in ordering, please e-mail me at
acw2377@aol.com for a shipping quote to your country (please remember to tell me what you plan to order so I can know the weight).
We accept credit card / debit card
/ e-check payments through www.PayPal.com. They are a secure money transfer site where you can pay directly from your bank account or through any major credit card. PayPal then transfers the money into our account and we never have access to your credit card or bank account numbers. Just click on the “add to cart” button for the item you wish to purchase and it will automatically be added to a PayPal shopping cart. When you are ready to check out just click “view shopping cart” and you can pay. We also accept money orders (postal money orders preferred)
and cashier's checks. We do NOT accept personal or business checks.
Will you make an item from my own fabric?
Unfortunately, no, due to legal issues involving ownership of the fabric. You should contact local seamstresses in your area as they may be able to help you.

While we are happy to answer any questions you may have, we prefer to keep all correspondence through e-mail. This way there is never any confusion regarding an order and there is always a record of exactly what was discussed.

May I return an item?
Plus-Size Costume Shop is forced to have a strict no return policy due to the fact that we sell special occasion clothing. Our items run true to size and as long as you have correctly taken your measurements there should never be a problem with an item fitting. If you receive an item that is damaged or an item that you believe is a different size than the one you ordered, please contact us immediately upon receipt (if the item looks to be damaged during shipping, you must save the box! An insurance claim cannot be filed without it). You may then send the item back and we will replace the item if it was damaged before arriving or if it was the incorrect size. We will not repair or replace items that were damaged through wear! Packages must be postmarked within 2 days after you receive them to qualify for an exchange.

Will you send me fabric swatches?
Unfortunately, no. We go through bolts of fabric so quickly that usually, by the time you've received the swatch, that fabric is gone and a new bolt is in its place (every dye lot differs and the swatch we sent you may be different than the new fabric we have in). It is also very time consuming and costly for us to be focusing on fabric swatches instead of pending orders. If you're unsure about a fabric, please visit your local fabric store and browse through their fabric selection. When you find the perfect fabric write down the name, number, description, etc. and let us know where you saw it. If we can get it for you, we'll be happy to.
